We are so pleased to announce AWA received funding from the National Lottery towards Anambra Festival and Iwaji 2019 #Iwaji2019. Thank you to everyone who plays National Lottery games for your support!

AWA received funding from Forever Manchester.

 

During Covid Lockdown in July 2020, AWA received a grant to support her members with food, PPE and training. The Association distributed these resources according to members’ needs.

Three AWA members benefited from the training grant.

AWA received funding from her member 

In the spirit of educating Anambrarians (both adults and children) on African literature, Mr Obiora donated £105 to Anambra Welfare Association. This money was used to purchase books (literature and non fiction) for AWA library. Members are encouraged to borrow these books which can be loaned via the association WhatsApp platform.

AWA receives grant from GM Mental wellbeing from GMCVO  

 

Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation (GMCVO) is the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector for the Greater Manchester (GM) region.

The voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector is an important partner for statutory health and social care agencies which plays a key role in improving health, well-being and care outcomes.

AWA received grant towards the association’s mental health initiative achieved through various activities such as motivational talks delivered during her monthly zoom social meetings, facilitating COVID and non COVID related health awareness sessions, organising socially distanced walks in the parks to mention but a few.

Members reported that these sessions enhanced their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing during lockdown.

AWA received from Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation, GMCVO; the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector for the Greater Manchester (GM) region, went towards projects such as developing the association’s Web page, facilitating mental health initiatives such as organising walks in the park and other physical activities for members of the association and setting up virtual social events such as quiz nights on zoom etc.
