Our Story

AWA is a family oriented organisation that cares about the welfare of Anambra state indigenes and well-wishers in the Greater Manchester area.

We promote the Igbo culture by conducting Igbo lessons and general meetings on a monthly basis.

Iwa ji (New Yam Festival) is our very colourful flagship annual event celebrated and marked by rich cultural displays, music
and dance – a real family affair.

AWA also engages in charity by giving to NGO’s both in the UK and in Anambra state,
thereby supporting the less privileged in the society.
